Castle Creations

26/8/09 August 2009

On Wednesday Room 2 made castles. First we made plans then we started making them. We started sticking boxes together. Then we made things to put in our castles. After that we painted them. We were all happy and proud.

Every Fairytale Needs a Castle!!

On Wednesday we made AWESOME castles! We designed and built them, then we mixed black and white to make grey to paint our castles. We learned that castles have a keep which has very thick walls, this was to make it safe for the lord of the castle.

Colour Scapes

We made some city scapes.
First we drew buildings, then we drew our road.

We had to use lots of colours. We had lots of fun making these pictures, even though they look a bit different than normal buildings.

Colour Prints

Today we painted our hands with the three primary colours - red, blue and yellow. It was fun to press our hands on to paper and look for the secondary colours, like green and orange!
Nicky and Aarana had to remember not to scratch their noses while their hands were wet!!
Thanks Tracy for your wonderful help.

Going Spinning!

10/8/09.
On the 8 of August Room2 made colourful spinning wheels.
Abbey and Pharoah showed theirs to Mrs Duffin.
Blu did 55 spins!
We tried it with one hole but that didn't work so we tried two holes and it did work.
It was AWESOME!!!!!

Colours

The food colouring we used was red, blue and yellow. First we poured full fat milk into the bowl, then we added food colouring. We poured in washing liquid and watched what happened. It chased the milk fats around and around in circles. We saw lots of shapes, like dragon heads, flowers , comets, asteroids and tornadoes. Some of the colours were strong and brave like a rocket zooming past my eyes, making me dance like a dancing cheetah around the classroom. It was fantastic, I would love to try this at home. Mixing Colours

First we mixed full fat milk, washing liquid and food colouring. Then we watched wicked creations happen - the colours were bursting! There was a rocket shape moving as fast as a hippo. The sun shape looked incredible, amazing and awesome. I want to try this at home because it was easy and fantastic.
